„Z ziemi włoskiej do polskiej” – powrotna akulturacja reemigranta w wieku późnej dorosłości
Emigration is associated with the development of the phenomenon of acculturation, which consists in the entry of an individual into a new cultural space, which causes changes in their functioning and most often leads to adaptation. During re-emigration, the emigrant experiences acculturation, which is intensified by the return culture shock. The focus was on reconstructing the processes of re-acculturation and re-culture shock in the experiences of the re-emigrant and his family. The research was conducted through individual, partly directed, problem-focused interviews. Re-acculturation is a dynamic and changeable phenomenon. In the case of the respondent, it moves from a more intense one, conditioned by adaptation problems, to the perspective of establishing relationships with others in order to negotiate coexistence. The return culture shock is intensified by the problems that characterize a man’s life and depends on the degree of rootedness in a foreign culture, as well as individual characteristics and expectations constructed at the time of returning to the country. It leads to the subject’s entanglement in economic, existential and family problems. It becomes the cause of re-evaluating one’s own life and defining alternative ways of solving problems.
