FEATURES OF ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING OF POLLUTION IN THE ORENBURG REGION, MEASUREMENTS FOR THE PRESENCE OF POLLUTANTS IN THE AIR
Recently, in the Orenburg region, cases of population complaints about air pollution, water quality, and soil pollution have become more frequent. Calls to medical institutions and to the duty line of municipal administrations have become more frequent. The resulting general indignation results in spontaneous rallies gathering up to a thousand people. Unfortunately, such outpourings of public discontent do not lead to solutions to emerging problems due to the lack of evidence to defend their interests in court. The monitoring system we have developed and the results obtained make it possible to record excess concentrations of a large number of substances harmful to humans. OPO LLC "All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation" has at its disposal not only instruments that allow recording the presence and concentration of harmful substances, but also a staff of professional, certified specialists who are able to competently interpret instrument readings. The problem of monitoring the state of air, water, and soil is that the fact of pollution must be recorded as quickly as possible and provide affected people with the necessary evidence of the presence of harmful impurities in their place of permanent residence. The second important stage of the project will be consultations with affected residents in order to protect their health in the courts. The goal of the project was to organize and establish a system of effective environmental monitoring by highly qualified and certified experts; - periodically (on request) conduct environmental monitoring (air, water, soil); - consultations with affected residents in order to protect their health in the courts. As a result of the work performed, the following results were obtained: - reducing the amount of emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, water, soil; - increasing the effectiveness of appeals to court by persons affected by exceeding the maximum permissible concentration of harmful substances in the air, water, and soil; - increasing the number of people who received recommendations on protecting their health after contacting the project hotline; - development of responsibility for the state of the environment at potential sources of air, water, and soil pollution; - residents of the region will promptly receive information about the level of environmental pollution.
