Synthesis of a new reduced graphene oxide/cesium oxide nanocomposite by microwave-assisted hydrothermal route
Nanocomposites based on graphene are an innovative class of materials with the potential to be utilised in a substantial number of applications. Herein, the synthesis of a new cesium oxide based reduced graphene oxide (rGO/CsO) nanocomposite was achieved by a simple economical microwave-assisted hydrothermal process, employing subcritical water as the solvent. XRD, EDS, FTIR and FESEM were used to characterise the morphology and crystalline structure of nanocomposite. Experimental results confirmed the successfully conversion GO to rGO and formation of cesium oxide nanoparticles decorated the surface of rGO sheets. The antibacterial and anticancer properties of the nanocomposite are expected to be greatly enhanced, making them desirable candidates in diverse fields.
