Research on Vibration Characteristics in Waterjet Kerf‐Cutter Coupled Rock‐Breaking Method

In order to reveal the effects of different kerf modes and the kerf depths on the vibration characteristics of the cutter system during the waterjet kerf‐cutter coupled rock‐breaking process, in this paper, a full‐size rock‐breaking test is carried out under the complete cutting mode (CD), different trajectory mode (DM), same trajectory mode (SM), triple‐kerf mode (TM), and the different kerf depths. The vibration signal characteristics of the cutter system, the ability of vibration reduction, and rock‐breaking mass are deeply analyzed. Furthermore, specific vibration (SV) and specific energy (SE) are combined to evaluate the performance of the waterjet kerf‐cutter coupled rock‐breaking method. The results show that the optimal kerf depth is 6 mm for the different kerf modes. When the kerf depth is 6 mm, the comprehensive rock‐breaking ability ranking is DM > TM > SM. The result provides new inspiration for the arrangement of waterjet nozzles on the cutterhead and the design of the high‐pressure waterjet rock‐breaking TBM.
