Сonnective tissue dysplasia from the perspective of premature skin aging. Principles of patient management by cosmetologists

Connective tissue dysplasia (CTD) is characterized by a high prevalence in the general population. In recent years, the detection rate of such patients has increased, largely due to greater awareness among physicians of various specialties. Nevertheless, the issue of insufficient understanding regarding the principles of diagnosis and CTD patient management remains unresolved. One of the cutaneous clinical manifestations of CTD is premature skin aging, which has numerous etiological factors influencing its development. When managing patients presenting with signs of premature skin aging, it is necessary to implement targeted interventions that address key molecular mechanisms of aging, employing a personalized approach that takes into account possible risks in this patient population. Compared with individuals undergoing physiological aging, patients with premature skin aging demonstrate marked age-related changes in the mechanical properties of the skin, as well as deeper wrinkles and facial furrows. Morphological examination of the skin reveals a generalized reduction in dermal thickness. Histology identifies disruption of the normal skin architecture, alterations in both the fibrous and amorphous components of the dermis, and a decrease in the relative content of type III collagen fibers. In terms of targeted therapy for dermal involutional changes, the highest clinical efficacy has been demonstrated for a combination preparation based on hyaluronic acid and a formulation containing native collagen. Abstract
