Electrorheological Response of a Suspension Based on a Silicone Oil and Chitosan-Modified Graphene Oxide
A highly efficient low-concentration electrorheological fluid, namely, a smart suspension that changes its rheological properties in an external electric field was obtained and studied. A silicone oil was chosen as a dispersion medium, which was filled with a synthesized stimuli-sensitive composite of graphene oxide (GO) modified with chitosan. The electrorheological tests showed that the resulting suspension has a pronounced response: the yield point reached 1.12 kPa at a field strength of 7 kV/mm.
