DEMATEL Approach to Analyze Barriers to Sustainable Supply Chain Management Leveraging Blockchain Technology

This paper proposes adoption of blockchain technology to improve sustainability in supply chain management. The main contribution of this work is to identify challenges in supply chain management causing environmental, social and ethical issues and a technology to overcome these challenges. This is achieved by integrating blockchain in the supply chain. The barriers in adopting blockchain in the supply chain are identified by survey. The impact of these barriers is evaluated using the DEMATEL approach. It is found that the blockchain has a lot of potential to increase sustainability in the supply chain provided technical and ethical issues regarding blockchain are handled properly.
