Research status and development overview of ultra-high-power semiconductor laser source
With the continuous expansion of laser application fields and the ongoing advancements in the development of ultrahigh- power laser sources, ultra-high-power semiconductor laser sources are expected to play an increasingly important role in driving technological innovation and industry upgrades. This paper investigates the development status, implementation approaches, and application prospects of ultra-high-power semiconductor laser sources. With their high energy density, compactness, and multifunctionality, these laser sources can be widely applied in various fields, including national defense and military, industrial manufacturing, aerospace, communications, environmental protection, and high-energy physics experiments. This paper proposes an implementation scheme for an ultra-high-power semiconductor laser source, which integrates coherent beam combining, arrayed surface-emitting technology, and highly integrated packaging technology using microchannel liquid metal cooling. This approach achieves high-power output while optimizing thermal management and power supply control, thereby enhancing operational stability. The paper also briefly discusses the key technologies and challenges associated with ultra-high-power semiconductor laser sources and provides an outlook on future development trends.
