AVALIAÇÃO DE RÓTULOS IRREGULARES COM AMOSTRAS COLETADAS EM ESTABELECIMENTOS DO MUNICÍPIO DE SÃO PAULO
Honey is a product of high nutritional and commercial value, often subject to adulterations that compromise its quality and safety. This study aimed to verify the presence of adulterations in the composition and labeling of honey marketed in different establishments in the city of São Paulo. A total of 20 samples were analyzed, originating from three types of establishments: CEAGESP, the Municipal Market, and natural products stores. The label analysis, based on current legislation (IN No. 11/2000, Decree No. 9,013/2017, RDC No. 429/2020), revealed that although 95% of the samples had some form of labeling, only 15.7% were in full compliance with legal criteria. The most frequent irregularities included the absence of a valid CNPJ, incorrect use of seals, and lack of mandatory information. The results indicate that labeling, for the most part, is deficient and does not ensure the transparency and safety required for consumers. They also reinforce the need for increased inspection, standardization, and guidance for producers so that labels effectively fulfill their role of informing and ensuring product quality.
