ESTUDOS DE CASO INTERROMPIDOS: PRODUÇÃO E APLICAÇÃO NO ENSINO SUPERIOR DE QUÍMICA
INTERRUPTED CASE STUDIES: PRODUCTION AND APPLICATION IN CHEMISTRY EDUCATION AT UNIVERSITY LEVEL. Most of the case studies disseminated in chemistry teaching environments in Brazil are short and end with a question to students about the subject. This paper focuses on a different type of case study, interrupted case studies, which are divided into parts, occupy several pages, and are characterized by the gradual addition of information to the narrative, usually inspired by original research texts, so that they portray a problem that has actually been faced by researchers. From this perspective, an innovative experience in undergraduate teaching is reported, involving the process of producing and applying interrupted case studies in a scientific communication course, and the perceptions of the students about the activity are analyzed. The aim is to contribute to the dissemination of the method, providing support for educators with regard to the resources and considerations necessary for its production, as well as for its application in classrooms.
