Sexualización de la violencia en jóvenes

Group sexual violence has received special attention in recent years, as this type of crime is particularly violent and committed by very young perpetrators. This research analyzes cases of group sexual violence (Violencia Sexual ejercida en Grupo; VSG) in Spain, comparing cases involving minors with cases committed by adults. The final sample consisted of a total of 491 incidents, in which 1,359 perpetrators and 525 victims were recorded. The results showed that 22.8% of SGBV perpetrators were minors, with these perpetrators primarily being underage victims. Comparing the groups, it was found that underage perpetrators reported less sexually explicit behavior but reported higher levels of violence. This may be because these types of incidents seek to satisfy the need to humiliate and degrade the victim through sexualized violence.
