Compliance and Quality Assurance Framework for Multidisciplinary Nursing Leadership in Acute Care

The evolving complexities of acute care environments demand robust leadership practices that are both compliant with regulatory standards and aligned with quality assurance imperatives. This paper proposes a Compliance and Quality Assurance Framework tailored for multidisciplinary nursing leadership in acute care settings. Drawing on existing governance models, the framework integrates clinical governance, regulatory compliance, performance metrics, and interprofessional collaboration to address the dual challenges of regulatory adherence and care excellence. The framework emphasizes the pivotal role of nursing leaders in aligning organizational objectives with patient safety mandates, accreditation standards, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) protocols. Multidisciplinary leadership, including nurse managers, clinical nurse specialists, and advanced practice nurses, are positioned as central agents in embedding a culture of accountability, evidence-based practice, and transparent reporting. A key component of the framework is its focus on real-time audit tools and data-driven dashboards that support dynamic monitoring of quality indicators, such as medication errors, patient satisfaction, infection control, and care coordination outcomes. The framework also encourages participatory leadership models that empower nurses at all levels to contribute to compliance strategies and innovation in care delivery. Through a structured review of policy documents, peer-reviewed literature, and case studies from high-acuity healthcare institutions, this study validates the relevance and scalability of the proposed framework. Implementation pathways are discussed, including staff training, stakeholder engagement, risk assessment mechanisms, and feedback loops for continuous refinement. By fostering a compliance-informed leadership culture, the framework aims to reduce adverse events, enhance interdisciplinary communication, and promote organizational learning. This research contributes a strategic tool for nursing administrators and policymakers to operationalize regulatory and quality benchmarks in fast-paced, high-risk clinical environments. The framework serves as a practical guide for bridging policy and practice, reinforcing the critical role of nursing leadership in achieving sustainable quality outcomes in acute care.
