Antibacterial activity of iron oxide nanoparticles against MDR Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from diabetic foot infections

This study was intended to study the biological activity of iron oxide against four strain MDR Klebsiella Pneumoniaei isolated from diabetic foot infection. Seventy-Five samples and inquiries were carried out between October 2023 and January 2024. diabetic foot infection samples were obtained from two separate hospitals in the province of Hilla (merjan Hospital , diabetic foot center in the alsadeq Hospital). The iron oxide characterization(UVsepectroscopy,ATM,FESM,XRD and FTIR).The UV-vis. absorption spectroscopy peak was around 280nm. The FESEM images revealed that iron consists of thin, individual distribution of biosynthesized iron oxide nanoparticles were generated with a size of between (10.30 – 57.14 nm). AFM image of iron NPS was 9.25nm In XRD analysis, Iron exhibited a broad diffraction peak at 2θ= 26.5° corresponding to the diameter of nanoparticles it was 25nm for Bacillus mesophilus. The FTIR spectrum of iron oxide was recorded between (500-800) cm-1 , The peak observed at 589.78cm−1. one efficient isolate (N10) was selected from screening different strains (N30) of probiotics based on antibacterial activityN10 Isolates were identified as B.mesophelius based on the morphological biological activity and DNA sequencing. The current research demonstrates the biosynthesis of iron dioxide nanoparticles from the isolate Bacillus mesophilus and studies their toxic effect on pathogens infections The results showed the activity of nanoFEO at concentrations ranging from (125 µg/ml to1000 µg/ml) against clinical isolates of pathogenic bacteria, and its high inhibitory effect on MDR Klebsiella Pneumoniaei bacteria( 23.2 mm) at 1000 µg/ml to high inhibitory effect (23 mm) to 1000 µg/ml at k.oxytoca.
