PHARMACOECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF DRUG TREATMENT OF PATIENTS ALLERGIC RHINITIS IN THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH OSSETIA – PHARMACOECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF DRUG TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH ALLERGIC RHINITIS IN THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH OSSETIA – ALANIA
The relevance of this study pursued the interests of a number of medical and preventive organizations of the Republic, manufacturers of pharmaceutical products, heads of wholesale links, a number of pharmaceutical and medical workers, taking into account the subsequent possibility of using the results of pharmacoeconomic studies by each of the participants for their own purposes. For pharmaceutical market manufacturers, these studies have special significance, since pharmacoeconomic analysis ensures pricing policy and subsequent inclusion of certain groups of medicinal products (MP) in the Lists of medicinal products (MP) dispensed to preferential categories. Thanks to pharmacoeconomic research, the heads of wholesale structures will be able to subsequently form the necessary and affordable range of medicines; the formulary committee advocates reducing the financial costs of therapy, justifying this by introducing more effective and safe medicines; pharmacists and doctors work together to formulate a product range based on the patient's medical treatment, expected outcome, and financial capabilities. the predicted outcome of treatment and the financial capabilities of the patient. The use of evidence-based medicine and pharmacoeconomic analysis methods is a key factor in rational and qualified therapy, which further contributes to improving the quality of treatment and, consequently, the quality and duration of patients' lives. According to the opinion of a number of authors, pharmacoeconomics, based on its economic essence, is the identification of the most rational treatment paths for the further determination of the list of drugs with constant stable financing [3]. The main goal of pharmacoeconomic analysis is to evaluate treatment regimens from an economic perspective and develop a plan for the efficient allocation and use of financial resources in the healthcare system. [2]. The aim of the work was to conduct a pharmacoeconomic analysis of the course therapy of allergic rhinitis (AR) with the antihistamine drugs Claritin and Kestin, using the methods: “Total cost of disease”, “Cost minimization” and “Cost-effectiveness”. To achieve this goal, the following tasks us have been formulated that require a thorough and comprehensive approach: • conduct a comparative analysis of the pharmaceutical market in the Russian Federation (RF) for antihistamine drugs; • determine the cost of outpatient treatment for a course of AR therapy; • using the “cost minimization” method, determine conditional lists of the least expensive drugs; • calculation of the total cost of treating allergic rhinitis at the outpatient stage using the "Cost of Illness" analysis, which allows us to look at the problem from the perspective of society and the healthcare system as a whole; • determination of the specific weight and exact cost of the treatment of allergic rhinitis using a cost-effectiveness analysis, which makes it possible to subsequently compare drugs in the price-clinical significance ratio. As part of our study, we carefully studied the standards and protocols of treatment, as well as diagnostic methods for allergic diseases used in the Russian Federation and in the specific region under study. In addition, we conducted a comprehensive comparative analysis of previous clinical trials, on the basis of which we compiled an exhaustive list of antihistamines used in medical practice in the country.
