Eficiência técnica na produção de batata inglesa: uma análise comparativa com base nas alternativas de comercialização

The study raised the technical efficiency in potato production in the state of São Paulo, using primary information collected from 50 potato producers, through individual interviews, in the region of Campinas, SP. In the context of analysis of technical efficiency in potato production, an inconvenience arises when measuring these indicators considering the product's marketing strategy, since there are several possibilities, with peculiarities that impact technical efficiency. In this way, the marketing strategy directly impacts the technical efficiency indicators. The technical efficiency parameters found to show that producers who trade with industry are less efficient (more inefficient) technically than producers who trade in the physical market.
