Simultaneously Enhanced Dielectric Property and Interfacial Shear Strength of Aramid Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite via GO

The process begins with plasma pretreatment of aramid fiber fabrics, followed by the application of a polydopamine coating and subsequent deposition of graphene oxide (GO), aiming to improve the interfacial bonding performance of the composite material composed of aramid fibers and epoxy resin, while enhancing its insulation performance. The introduction of GO leads to a 136.43 % increase in interfacial shear strength, primarily attributed to a significant rise in surface roughness at the fiber-resin interface, as confirmed by SEM analysis. Additionally, GO fillers introduce more charge traps, contributing to a marked improvement in dielectric performance. Specifically, DC conductivity decreases by <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{8 1. 3 1 \%}$</tex>, while AC breakdown strength increases by <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{3 0. 6 0 \%}$</tex>, demonstrating strong potential for high-voltage power equipment applications.
