A Fuzzy Logic Controlled Solar Tilt Angle Optimization for a PV System
The exploration of solar energy and other renewable energy resources is being considered as they help minimize the impact on the physical environment and help cut down the cost incurred. A PV system mainly comprises many accessory functional units, which are used to optimize performance, such as the maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Thus, with the inclusion of a smart MPPT algorithm, the PV system becomes efficient. This research uses a controller that is fuzzy Logic-based (FLC) and is used in estimating the ideal tilt angle and the maximum power. Fuzzy logic control was then the first intelligent algorithm that introduced into consideration changes in weather and system uncertainties for defining the best tilt angle; other intelligent algorithms include many others. For voltage regulation of the circuit, a DC-DC converter such as the Buck-Boost converter is incorporated, and this tends to either deliver higher voltage or vice versa compared to the input voltage. Self-generated models pointed to the higher production power of the solar PV system through the proposed method. Compared to the other methods in the literature, the proposed method's improvement percentage was 20 %.
