The Darkweb Paradox: The Duality of Anonymity and its Impact on Cybercrime
The dark web, a hidden area of the internet, serves as both an area of safety for privacy-conscious users and a platform for illegal activities ranging from cybercrime to drug trafficking. This paper explores the dark web's dual nature, focusing on how it both protects user anonymity and enables cybercrime. By analyzing recent studies and trends, we understand the complex association between privacy and illegal activities. Our findings emphasize the critical necessity for balanced rules that protect personal freedoms while prohibiting criminality. This research aims to educate both the general public and policymakers on the complex dynamics of the dark web and its implications for cybersecurity in today's digital world.
