Advanced Encryption Standard Algorithm in Comparison with FERNET Algorithm for Reducing Encryption Time of H.264 Encoded Video Files

The primary aim of this study is to find the Advanced Encryption Standard Algorithm in comparison with FER-NET Algorithm for reducing encryption time of h264 encoded video files. Materials and Methods: In this investigation comparing the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and FERNET Algorithm for reducing encryption time of H.264 encoded video files, the sample size determination followed a procedure using G-Power software. With an 80% pre-test power and applying <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$=0.05$</tex> to ensure statistical significance, the study established two distinct groups. Each group consisted of 28 video files, allowing for a comparative analysis of the encryption process between AES and FERNET. The research involved the individual implementation of the AES and FERNET algorithms using encryption software. Subsequently, the encryption times for H.264 encoded video files were precisely measured for each algorithm, enabling a comprehensive and meticulous comparative assessment. Results: The independent sample t-test, contrasting the encryption times of the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and FERNET Algorithm for H.264 encoded video files, unveiled a p-value of 0.041 (p <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$>$</tex> 0.05). This outcome indicates a significant difference in encryption durations between AES, with an average of 0.00254 seconds, and FERNET, with a longer duration of 0.0047 seconds for H.264 files. Conclusion: The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) consistently showcases quicker encryption performance compared to the FERNET Algorithm for H.264 encoded video files, underscoring its efficiency in reducing encryption times without specifying exact numerical values or focusing on statistical significance.
