Development of Intelligent Partition Pole: 1st Report: Proposal of Concept and Development of Belt Connection

This study proposes a new type of partition pole that enables autonomous and optimal deployment. Conventional partition poles weigh approximately 8 kg, and manually placing many partition poles is heavy workload and time consuming. To address this problem, we propose an autonomous deployment partition pole that calculates the optimal arrangement based on the number of people and automatically forms waiting queues by autonomous movement and belt connection. The proposed partition pole is called “Intelligent Partition Pole (IPP)”. This paper describes a fully automated belt connection system on IPP that uses a linear telescopic mechanism and a belt catch mechanism for the belt connection of the partition poles.
