An Induction Heating System Using High-Frequency Inverters Connected in Anti-Series
This paper proposes a new power converter circuit and heating coil configuration to achieve both direct ac-ac conversion and uniform heating. This is characterized by the fact that it realizes direct ac conversion by connecting two sets of induction heating system in anti-series, and at the same time, it also reduces uneven heating by using two working coils according to the polarity of the ac-line voltage without any precious control. In this paper, a Double D-shaped (DD) coil, which is a generalpurpose coil, is applied as the heating coil. Then, this paper qualitatively describes the heat distribution in the applied DD coil and theoretically explains the operating principle of the circuit. Finally, the experimental results demonstrate the validity of the operation of the proposed induction heating system by an experimental set-up of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$800-\mathrm{W}$</tex>.
