Energy Conservation Framework for Smart Cities for Optimal Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

The exponential increase in city growth has demanded efficient and practical smart transportation, services, climate, and living standards in smart cities. Smart cities can be accessed via the Internet of Things, essential in decreasing energy demand and other environmental consequences. The power storage network minimizes energy usage in smart cities, leading to energy conservation. Therefore, this paper proposes the Energy Conservation Framework (ECF) for smart cities based on requests to reduce energy consumption. ECF achieves optimal solutions for energy conservation in smart cities by employing a novel IoT-based Energy Conservation IBEC algorithm. The Sustainable Energy Conservation Index SECI, a novel statistic, is incorporated into the IBEC algorithm to evaluate the energy conservation index. SECI aims to assess the extent to which energy-saving strategies advance long-term sustainability. The proposed ECF attained a maximum energy sage index and a minimum energy loss factor higher than other metrics. The average energy saved by the proposed framework is 758.3 KJ, the optimum value compared to different approaches. The ECF shows that the framework is being substantially built and responds to an adequate answer to develop intelligent building elements that minimize smart cities' energy usage.
