Enhancing the Fourier Transform Learning Capabilities of Second-Year Electrical Engineering Students through Flipped Classroom Approach

The key intention of this study is to enhance the Fourier Transform (FT) learning capabilities of second-year electrical engineering students at Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University through flipped classroom approach. The research aims to develop students’ FT learning skills, evaluate their outcomes and satisfaction based on using Flipped Classroom approach. During six-week intervention, twenty students participated in the proposed instructional design, which combined pre-class self-directed learning with in-class active learning activities such as Scilab programming workshops, problem-based tasks, and mini-projects. Pre-test and post-test assessments were also used to evaluate the effectiveness of the students’ FT learning capabilities. The findings illustrated a significant improvement in the students’ learning outcomes by using a paired-sample t-test score, which showed a statistically significant increase in post-test scores (mean=23.05) compared to pre-test scores (mean=15.50). Students’ engagement and participation were notably elevated during in-class active learning activities. Through these active learning activities, students also demonstrated greater motivation, enhanced conceptual understanding, and improved problem-solving skills.
