Students’ Perspectives on the Intention to Pursue Technology Entrepreneurship: A Case study

The phenomenon of economic advancement is currently profoundly shaped by entrepreneurial activities, especially within the technological sector. This investigation scrutinizes the motivations of university scholars to engage in technology startup ventures while concurrently pursuing their academic studies. Employing a mixed-methods framework, which encompasses a survey administered to 157 students alongside comprehensive interviews, the research delineates the principal catalysts and impediments that influence students’ entrepreneurial aspirations. The findings reveal that students’ propensity to engage in digital startup initiatives is significantly swayed by various determinants, including mentorship, risk assessment, personal drive, and the availability of resources. Moreover, academic support systems-such as funding avenues and incubators-are instrumental in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students. This research offers critical insights for educators, policymakers, and startup ecosystems aimed at enhancing support for emerging entrepreneurs and facilitating the integration of educational experiences with practical business endeavors.
