Features of the composition and mineralogy of the cupriferous sandstones of the southeastern Perm krai

Studies of cupriferous grey-colored sandstones in the southeast of the Perm Krai (villages of Aspa, Ashap, Yug) have been conducted. Sandstone is composed of apovolcanogenic flints and chalcedonies (up to 95%); quartz up to 5%. The composition corresponds to greywacke. The heavy-mineral fraction is dominated by chloritized biotite, magnetite, and zircon; titanite and spessartine crystals are common. Zircon, titanite, and spessartine are of the same type, with no signs of mechanical wear. We assume that the sources of the material were local, possibly related to the Early Permian tectonic magmatic activation.
