Studi Parametrik Perilaku Nonlinear Tuned Mass Damper Dengan Model Bouc-Wen Menggunakan Opensees
This parametric study aims to analyze the effect of frequency ratio variations on the performance of Nonlinear Tuned Mass Damper (NTMD) with Bouc-Wen without pinching model in reducing seismic response of structures using OpenSEES software. The research was conducted through time history analysis using Kobe (Abeno Station) earthquake excitation with five frequency ratio variations (0.8, 0.95, 1.0, 1.05, and 2.0). The analyzed aspects include peak structural displacement, maximum base shear force, hysteresis loop characteristics, and energy dissipation capacity of the NTMD system. The results demonstrate that frequency ratio variations significantly influence the amplitude and timing of peak structural displacement. Configurations with frequency ratios approaching the natural frequency of the structure (? = 0.95 and ? = 1.00) provide optimal performance with peak displacement reductions of 44.52% and 33.99%, respectively, and base shear reductions of 44.57% and 33.82%. The pattern of base shear reduction shows consistent trends with maximum displacement reduction. All configurations produce elliptical hysteresis loops without pinching effects, with total energy dissipation ranging from 21.13 to 32.15 Joules. This study confirms that NTMD frequency ratio optimization is crucial in determining system effectiveness in reducing dynamic structural response under seismic loading. Proper tuning at values close to the structural natural frequency yields optimal damping performance, while excessively low or high tuning reduces the effectiveness of the structural control system.
