Calculation of Inductance of Chokes of a Three-Phase Active Voltage Rectifier in Fixed and Synchronous Coordinate Systems

Three-phase active voltage rectifiers (AVRs) are usually constructed according to a three-phase bridge voltage inverter circuit and are widely used in various power-supply devices. A converter can provide a bidirectional energy flow in the rectifier or inverter mode. In the inverter, the inductance on the ac side is the load inductance; i.e., it is actually specified. In an active rectifier, the inductances of chokes used on the ac side must be calculated in advance; when calculating, it is necessary to ensure in-phase compliance of sinusoidal current and network voltage and the optimal ratio of amplitude and effective voltage on the choke with the network voltage, as well as take into account the effect of changing the load’s active power. Depending on the selected coordinate system, the converter operation’s appropriate representation is required by a mathematical model. The article uses AVR models with equivalent power conversion. Methods for selecting the inductance of AVR’s chokes for invariant coordinate systems are shown: a fixed three-phase and synchronous d/q system.
