A study on reputation-based peer-to-peer sharing transaction strategy for rural distributed energy storage

Currently, most rural households in China find it difficult to afford high-quality energy. With the widespread adoption of rural energy storage devices, utilizing idle agricultural machinery batteries (IAMB) for electricity transactions can significantly reduce the energy burden on rural households. However, the lack of appropriate energy storage transaction models in rural areas has led to stagnation in their development. This paper proposes a distributed energy storage (DES) peer-to-peer(P2P) sharing transaction model based on rural production and living patterns, incorporating a reputation-based pricing mechanism to ensure reliability and fairness in transactions. The study shows that: 1)The proposed reputation-high-low matching mechanism based on auction theory reduced annual energy consumption costs by 91%; 2)Compared to traditional auction models, the introduction of the reputation model improved market efficiency by more than 5% and increased total social welfare by more than 20%; 3) The cost reductions varied across different household types: agricultural households (AH) saw a 37% reduction in annual energy costs, livestock rearing households (LRH) 99%, diversified occupation households (DOH) 168%, and unemployed households (UH) 308%. From a cost perspective, the promotion of rural DES P2P sharing transactions should prioritize UH, followed by DOH, and finally, LRH and AH.
