The Influence of Educational Digital Games on Enhancing Foreign Language Acquisition Efficacy Among Non-Linguistic Major Undergraduates: An Empirical Investigation at FPT University

This study explores the role of educational digital games in enhancing foreign language acquisition efficacy among non-linguistic major undergraduates at FPT University, Can Tho Campus, Vietnam, focusing on the mediating effect of engagement. The research aims to identify how gamified elements influence language learning outcomes for students not specializing in linguistics. A convenient sampling method was employed to collect valid responses from undergraduates, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Findings reveal that competitiveness, challenge, and enjoyment significantly enhance engagement, which, in turn, positively impacts foreign language learning efficacy. The measurement scales demonstrate strong reliability and validity, ensuring the robustness of the results. These findings highlight the potential of educational digital games to foster effective language learning through engagement, offering significant implications for educators and policymakers in higher education to promote gamified learning strategies for non-linguistic major students.
