Enhanced Lvrt Control Based on Voltage Amplitude and Phase Compensation of Ow-Wfsm Interface Converter Device

With the continuous growth in renewable energy penetration, conventional generating units are being gradually replaced by renewable energy systems. This transition has significantly reduced in the dynamic reactive power support capacity of power systems and made voltage stability issues increasingly prominent. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) control strategy for a voltage source converter (VSC) grid-connected system interfaced with an open-winding wound-field synchronous motor (OW-WFSM). From the system's voltage vector perspective, a voltage vector triangle is constructed based on the relationship between the converter, OW-WFSM, and the grid. When a voltage short-circuit fault occurs, the proposed strategy effectively mitigates transient overcurrent through voltage amplitude and phase in the converter. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy in improving system stability.
