VTOL Learning Kit Design and Implementation for a Practice Course in Control Systems Engineering
This paper presents the VTOL control system’s design and implementation for use as an instructional media in a control system engineering course. The target is to provide instructors and students with practical learning in the basics of control system engineering. Since the initial stage leads to controller design, testing stability in the final stage. All stages are strongly described. The Ziegler-Nichols closed-loop tuning approach is used to tune the PID parameter settings of all three controllers. Four experimental results are employed under different reference input conditions. The quality assessment is evaluated by experts and learners. The evaluation results for the learners are at a good level, Mean of 4.17, STD of $\mathbf{0 . 6 2}$. For the evaluation results from the experts are also at a good level, Mean of 4.20, STD of $\mathbf{0 . 5 0}$. This learning kit is extremely helpful for understanding and learning responses in practice.
