Secure IoT Data Transmission Using ECC-Based Hybrid Cryptographic Schemes

he Internet of Things (IoT), which allows smart gadgets with sensors integrated into them to communicate and share data over the Internet, has completely changed the modern digital world. However, due to their low computational power and the vulnerabilities in cloud-based data storage and transmission, they pose a significant obstacle for safe data interchange. Using robust yet lightweight cryptographic approaches is necessary to ensure data authentication, privacy, secrecy, and integrity in such setups. Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC), a safe and effective hybrid cryptographic approach, is presented in this study to provide high-level encryption with minimal processing overhead. Additionally, a Message Authentication Code (MAC) is used to facilitate authentication and data integrity. In order to minimize the requirement for local storage while maintaining security during transmission, data is encrypted and kept on a cloud server. The method is more secure and performs better than existing systems, according to the trial results, making it appropriate for IoT applications with limited resources.

Abstract

he Internet of Things (IoT), which allows smart gadgets with sensors integrated into them to communicate and share data over the Internet, has completely changed the modern digital world.
