Introduction: Quality of life is conceived as a measure that includes physical, mental and social well-being and depends on each person, relating it to happiness and satisfaction. The WHO defines a person's quality of life as their perception of their position in life in the context of culture. Objective: To know the factors associated with the level of quality of life in higher level students in the health sector.Methodology: The type of study is observational, descriptive, prospective, and cross-sectional, non-probabilistic sampling of enrolled students who meet the criteria of the WHOQOL-BREF quality of life measurement instrument, with a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.90. An inferential analysis was carried out dividing the participants into two groups: Good quality of life and Average-bad quality of life. Results: It was found that 68% of the population has a good quality of life, and 31% has a poor/fair quality of life. No statistically significant differences were found in the variables of Sex, age, marital status and BMI.Conclusions: A statistically significant finding was that 92% of second year students reported a poor/fair level of quality of life, in contrast to 32% and 2% of third and fourth year students (p<0.05). However, this It could be explained by the beginning of clinical practices during the second year that can add a considerable stress load and through this finding implement an educational intervention and consecutive evaluations in the form of monitoring
