Study on plasmonic effects at the cutting interface of microtextured tools based on laser excitation
Traditional dry cutting suffers from low efficiency and severe tool wear. Therefore, in this study, diamond micro-textured tools with graphene solid lubricants are employed, and the plasmonic effect is triggered by laser excitation. The influence of micro-texture width, laser power, and laser incidence angle on the tool's friction reduction is analyzed to explore strategies for improving tool life. The results show that when the micro-texture width is 100μm, the laser power is 30W, and the incidence angle is 90°, the localized electric field enhancement is maximized, leading to the most significant reduction in tool wear.
