Analysis of the lateral pressure of wet concrete on neighboring foundations

Engineering constructions are done in the core of urbain area, when constructing deep foundations approximate to the existing ones, it is well known that it is very important to investigate the effects of the construction process. In France, on the banks of the Seine, a deep diaphragm wall was constructed near a quay made of sheet pile. The issue of wet concrete pressure on the sheet pile during wall construction arose, therefore specific monitoring was carried out. The objective of investigating the pressure of wet concrete, is to gain a better understanding of the potential effects of building a diaphragm wall on surrounding soil and foundations. Accordingly, this paper performs an extensive literature survey on wet concrete's pressure and provides a description of the observational method implemented in an example project. This paper also provides analysis of the results given by instrumentations and proposes the focus and direction for follow-up work.
