100 μJ-Level Pulse Compression Down to 23 Fs in a Single-Stage Gas-Filled Herriott Multipass Cell
Ultrashort laser pulses are fundamentally constrained in duration by their spectral bandwidth. To overcome this limitation, spectral broadening in gases proves highly effective, especially at microjoule energy levels [1]. Achieving the shortest compressed pulses for a given laser source requires precise control over the interplay between gas pressure and pulse compression realized through group delay dispersion (GDD). This careful optimization allows for the generation of compressed pulses much shorter than the initial pulse duration [2].
