Mid-Infrared Wavelength Generation via Intermodal Four-Wave Mixing in Thin-Film LiNbO3 Waveguides
Lithium niobate on insulator (LNOI) technology combines strong nonlinear properties, broad transparency from visible to mid-infrared (MIR), and low-loss, high-confinement waveguides, making it ideal for scalable nonlinear photonics [1]. However, the achievement of phase matching (PM), essential for efficient nonlinear interactions, often requires domain poling, inevitably leading to an increase in both fabrication complexity and cost [2].
