Yb-Pumped Chirped-Pulse Optical Parametric Oscillator Based on Pellin-Broca Prisms
We present a MgO:PPLN-based optical parametric oscillator (OPO) that employs two Pellin-Broca prism retroreflectors in a ring-cavity configuration [1]. Pumped by chirped pulses from an amplified Yb:fiber laser (1033 nm, ∼4 ps, 3 W, 49.16 MHz), the OPO delivers a tunable signal between 1541 nm and 1921 nm. At the synchronous position, where the cavity length matches the pump repetition rate, it achieves a maximum signal power of 647 mW with a 33.3% pump-signal conversion efficiency. Temporal characterization via SHG-FROG revealed 317-fs full-width half-maximum (FWHM) pulses with linear chirp, with potential for external compression [2].
