High Power Quantum Walk Comb at 1.6 μm with a Repetition Rate of 2.3 GHz

Quantum Walk Combs (QWCs) [1] represent a step forward in the controllability in the spectrum of frequency-modulated (FM) optical frequency combs. They combine the quasi-constant intensity of self-modelocked FM combs as seen in quantum cascade lasers [2], interband cascade lasers [3] and other semiconductor lasers [4] with the larger control over the spectral shape and repetition rate of actively mode-locked lasers.

Abstract

Quantum Walk Combs (QWCs) [1] represent a step forward in the controllability in the spectrum of frequency-modulated (FM) optical frequency combs. They combine the quasi-constant intensity of self-modelocked FM combs as seen in quantum cascade lasers [2], interband cascade lasers [3] and other semiconductor lasers [4] with the larger control over the spectral shape and repetition rate of actively mode-locked lasers.
