A Fiber Laser Source for Parallel Dual-Window Multiplex SRS (DWM-SRS): Single-Shot Ch-Stretching and Fingerprint Imaging

Multiplex stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy [1] represents the one-to-one enhanced version of spontaneous Raman, keeping the broadband spectral capabilities while pushing the imaging speed to few-microseconds pixel-dwell-time range. Multiplex SRS has always been challenging to implement [2]–[4], [5] experimentally due to the extreme customization needed at the laser and detector side, thus limiting its applicability to the CH-stretching region. Nevertheless, single-shot broadband vibrational spectral imaging permits fast and accurate detection of multiple chemical species without any a-priori knowledge of the sample composition. Adding the fingerprint region to multiplex SRS would represent a breakthrough in terms of classification accuracy and range of applicability.
