Photon Entanglement in Synthetic Dimensions of a Single Waveguide
We generate entangled states of light in a single SiN waveguide (WG) by using its modal degree of freedom as a synthetic dimension [1] and exploiting intricate intermodal interactions. Our novel concept enables realization of entire photonic integrated quantum circuits [2] in small-footprint and readily fabricable single WG structures.
