Experimental Observation of Self-Frequency-Shifting Raman Quasisolitons in Fiber Fabry-Perot Resonators
Kerr resonators have attracted significant attention over the last decade for their ability to generate broad and stable optical frequency comb (OFC). They originate from ultra-short cavity solitons generated in the weak dispersion region of these cavities [1]. In 2015, C. Milián et al. theoretically explored the Raman effect's influence on these localized structures [2], revealing two distinct regimes: frequency-locked Raman (FLR) solitons, characterized by a temporal continuous drift relative to the driving field, despite self-frequency-shifting Raman (SFSR) quasi-solitons, by a temporal acceleration. While FLR solitons have been widely studied [3], to our knowledge, SFSR quasi-solitons have not been experimentally investigated. In this work, we demonstrate the transition from FLR cavity solitons to SFSR quasi-solitons within a high-finesse fiber Fabry-Perot (FFP) resonator by tunning the synchronization mismatch between the pulsed pump and the cavity.
