Nonlinear Pulse Compression of a Thin-Disk Amplifier to 620 fs at 303 W, 660 kHz by a Bulk Multi-Pass Cell
High-power ultrafast laser technology has rapidly evolved over the past decade, impacting both industrial and scientific fields. Among various laser architectures, thin-disk (TD) lasers are notable for their efficient heat management, low nonlinearity, and potential for high-energy scaling [1], [2]. However, challenges remain in achieving high peak power, particularly with gain media such as Yb:YAG, which face bandwidth limitations [3], [4]. Nonlinear pulse compression techniques, including multi-pass cell (MPC), address these challenges by spectrally broadening pulses and compressing them to shorter durations, resulting in higher peak powers and shorter pulse durations [5].
