Progress in Optical Synchronization for 2×10 PW Laser System at ELI-NP
One proposed way to reach the 100 PW -class peak power is based on the coherent combining of multiple ultrashort laser pulses. The HPLS laser system at Extreme Light Infrastructure - Nuclear Physics in Romania [1] provides a suitable testbed for developments in this direction, as it provides dual arm architecture with outputs at 0.1 PW, 1 PWand 10 PW levels, delivering optically synchronized pulses.
