Dynamics and Decoherences in Artificial Light-Harvesting Complexes

The investigation of the collective radiative dynamics of ring ordered subwavelength spaced point-like dipole emitters and their coupling is crucial for the development of quantum devices, which mimics artificial light harvesting complexes (LHC). The coherent and incoherent coupling among the emitting dipoles determines the collective quantum dynamics. Previous theoretical work has considered the problem in the full quantum physics framework and also via quantum information concepts, showing how the efficiently and fast excitation energy transport in LHCs is based on the mixture of quantum coherence, delocalized excitation and environmental noise [1]. There are also further theoretical models to explain the dynamics based on delocalized electronic states [2], but still the complete photodynamics in solid-state quantum emitters are not sufficiently studied and the conventional spectroscopy approach did not address them.
