Advanced PDK Elements for a Mid-Infrared Ge-on-Si Platform (MIRPIC)
Over the past several years, rapid advancements in photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technologies have given rise to many novel, advanced technological platforms. This trend has resulted in expanding the spectral range of operation for photonic integrated circuits (PICs) far beyond the telecom C-band, both towards the visible and mid-infrared spectral range [1]. Nowadays, PICs can find applications not only in telecommunications and data networks but also in sensing systems, digital health monitoring, biomedical devices, and many other fields [2].
