High-Resolution and Broad-Dynamic-Range Fiber Temperature Sensing via Photopolymer Self-Growing Micro-Cones
Optical fiber temperature sensors have found widespread application. A common challenge in nearly all fiber optic temperature sensors is the tradeoff between a large dynamic range and a high resolution [1]. The simultaneous realization of high sensitivity and a wide detection range remains a current research focus. This paper presents a novel approach utilizing the vernier effect of interference superposition, achieved through a double Fabry-Pérot interferometer (FPI) cavity constructed from a photopolymer self-growing micro-cone. The resulting sensor demonstrates high sensitivity, with a detection capability of 2.4800 nm/°C, operational within the temperature range of 4°C to 50°C.
