AlGaAs Nonlinear Pancharatman-Berry Metasurfaces
Nonlinear metasurfaces are highly promising for controlling harmonic properties such as spectrum, polarization, phase, and directionality [1]. Notable applications include generating structured light via nonlinear processes like second- and third-harmonic generation [1]–[7]. Two main approaches enable this: (i) tuning optical resonances [2], [3] and (ii) employing nonlinear Pancharatnam-Berry (PB) metasurfaces [4]–[7]. While the first requires precise fabrication and high computational resources, the latter simplifies design using in-plane rotations to build the look-up tables. However, nonlinear PB metasurfaces with strong nonlinear responses from semiconductors remain underexplored.
