Temporal Compression of an Electro-Optic Fiber Laser With Flexible Repetition Rate in the Multi-GHz Range
In 1988, Kobayashi et al., introduced the concept of electro-optically (EO) modulated picosecond lasers with ultra-high repetition rates (RR) [1]. These sources are still under development to obtain ultrafast lasers, with full flexibility for time-tailored laser-matter interactions [2]. However, the temporal compression depends on the RR which hinders the agility of the RR.
