Quasiperiodic Non-Hermitian Lattices: Nonlinearity and Anderson Jumps
Disorder in physical systems directly affects wave dynamics, and gives rise to Anderson localization [1], where randomness leads to localized eigenstates. Quasiperiodic lattices, such as the Aubry-Andre-Harper [2] model, are ideal platforms for studying disorder because they exhibit similar to the three-dimensional case, phase transitions from metallic to insulating phases. The non-Hermitian generalization that includes gain and loss [3], introduces new effects such as the constant-intensity waves [4] and the beyond Anderson quantized jumps [5]. Here, we explore the interplay between these beyond Anderson jumps and optical saturable nonlinearity of the gain [6].
